About Dr. Jay Schwartz
At the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, Dr. Jay Schwartz began his career studying biology and chemistry. He graduated summa cum laude in 1986, having made the dean’s list every year of his undergraduate career. Dr. Schwartz continued his education at The Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. In addition to graduating in the top 25 percent of his class, Dr. Jay Schwartz also found time to serve a term as the student body president.
Dr. Jay Schwartz has worked with children’s health as far back as 1993, when he served at Moi University’s pediatric ward in Kenya through the University of Indiana. Shortly thereafter, Dr. Schwartz provided pediatric service for the U.S. Air Force, operating out of the hospital at Dyess Air Force Base.
After leaving his position with the U.S. Air Force, Dr. Schwartz moved on to the private practice of Hendricks Pediatrics in Avon, Indiana, as a Pediatrician. He worked there for over a year, after which he returned to Texas to work as a Pediatrician for Midland Pediatric Associates. After nearly eight years of service there, he opened his own private practice in Frisco, Texas, called Collin County Pediatrics. Vitals.com gave Dr. Jay Schwartz the “On Time Doctor” and “Compassionate Doctor” awards in 2010.
As a resident of McKinney, Texas, Dr. Jay Schwartz finds ways outside of his practice to give back to the community. He is an active member of the Stonebridge United Methodist Church. He also provides coaching for the Upward Sports faith-based basketball team, continuing to work with kids in a way that has defined his personal and professional life.
